PICNICS: FROM THE PATIO TO THE PARK
Guest Blog Writer: Michelle Blan
Wow! Summer is already in full swing. There is often so much going on this time of year that it is easy to forget days that mean so much to others. Thankfully, gift giving doesn’t have to be difficult. A simple selection from the “Essentialgifting” website can have you enjoying your longer days while someone special gets your surprise!
Speaking of enjoying longer days, do you ever run out of things to do to keep the family entertained and having a great time? Here’s a simple solution… have a picnic!
The best part about picnics is that they are so versatile. You can have one in your favorite park, at the beach, or even in your own backyard.
All you need are a few key items:
• A picnic basket
• A blanket
• Decorative mats, trays, and plates
• Lanterns and citronella candles (for those days when the picnic continues after sundown)
• A first aid kit (just because you should)
Of course, some delectable treats are an absolute must. Lunch meats, cheeses, fruits, veggies, or anything that sounds light yet satisfying. Top it off with some chilled wine spritzers and sweet, finger desserts and you’ve got the perfect meal for a picnic.
Perhaps one thing that makes picnics so wonderful is that you can transition the outdoor space into this beautiful, inviting dining space. As you tablescape with bright colors, you and your loved ones can sit back and relax, taking in all that the summer day has to offer. Or, you can have some fun, play some games, go fishing, start up a baseball scrimmage, or play some music and dance barefoot in the grass.
It’s a picnic. Make it yours. Do it often. And make some memories.
GRATITUDE GIFTING TO THE BBQ HOST AND HOSTESS
What happens when you find yourself on the receiving end of a BBQ invite? Remember, during summer, BBQ’s are very common so there is a good chance that you will find yourself in this scenario at least once.
You want to go and enjoy yourself so you reply with a yes and ask what you can bring or contribute. The response? “Just yourself – we’ve got everything covered.”
Now, as much as you would love to show up empty handed without having to lose time in thought on what you should or should not bring, you know deep down that if someone invites you to their home, you cannot show up without even a small token of appreciation.
Here’s the perfect thing: A gratitude gift basket.
Gratitude gift baskets can be designed in many ways, but for the BBQ host or hostess, how about something that will stick to the theme at hand? For example, why not choose an Unwind Summer Gift Basket filled with all sorts of goodies to help the couple unwind? Or a Summer Essentials basket with everything that can make summer a hit without worry. And, lastly, a BBQ Gift Basket seems quite fitting – maybe some unique BBQ seasonings, sauces, grill tools, and an apron?
What a perfect gift for the host and hostess of your next BBQ!
